SALT LAKE CITY, UT, November 7th, 2006 - IKANO Communications Inc., announced today at ISPCON in Santa Clara, California, the release of IKANO DSL. This product provides wholesale ISP partners the ability to offer DSL services to their end users on multiple telecommunications networks within the United States, including AT&T, Verizon, Qwest, and BellSouth. As part of the release, IKANO has created a unified provisioning platform encompassing the various telecommunications networks on its newly expanded DSL platform. Developed in conjunction with IKANO's recent acquisition of Los Angeles based DSL Extreme, the platform provides partners the ability to perform real-time multi-telco DSL pre-qualification and a branded real-time order system.
ISPs looking to expand into a high-speed access service offering are freed from managing long-term commercial agreements, equipment and network expenditures, and multiple LATA arrangements with numerous vendors. "The new wholesale DSL product is key to IKANO's commitment to combine as many DSL vendors as possible under one easy to use product at the lowest price," said George Naspo, IKANO CEO. "IKANO is working daily on continued network negotiations to further improve the product for our partners."
Wholesale partners, who are enabled on the IKANO DSL Platform, will use an administrative interface to manage packages, pricing, orders, and other options relevant to the ordering process. "ISPs contemplating adding the DSL service to their existing product offering will find the transparent DSL ordering process across multiple vendors quite simplistic. Our goal is to help ISPs, who want to maintain control of their own billing and customer service, purchase our wholesale DSL services without the hassle of trying to figure out the process on their own," said Ari Ramezani, IKANO VP. "We believe this product will become one of the most sophisticated multi-vendor DSL provisioning services in the space and help satisfy the needs of the market." IKANO also plans to develop a turnkey version of the DSL product that will include tier one branded customer support, billing, and additional automation for clients who currently do not supply these services.
Also announced at ISPCON, IKANO has recently integrated a newly automated domain registration and hosting service for turnkey customers using IKANO's billing platform. This service, to be available in early December, will provide ISPs the ability to offer simple to advanced websites including; database hosting, e-commerce builder, blog builder, web based e-mail, SSL keys, web statistics, ASP, JSP, CGI, and Front Page all within an easy to use customer facing control panel.
